The official website for the television anime of Saekisan's The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten (Otonari no Tenshi-sama ni Itsu no Ma ni ka Dame Ningen ni Sareteita Ken) light novel series unveiled a teaser trailer for the the second season, and it reveals the staff and April 2026 premiere.

Chihiro Kumano (The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei) is directing the second season at project No.9, taking over Li Hua Wang. Keiichirō Ōchi (Adachi and Shimamura, The Quintessential Quintuplets) was in charge of the series scripts. Takayuki Noguchi (Queen's Blade: Rebellion, Cinderella Nine) adapted Hanekoto's original character designs for animation. Moe Hyūga (O Maidens in Your Savage Season, Steins;Gate 0) composed the music.

The first season premiered on Tokyo MXon January 2023. The series also aired on BS NTVand AT-X. Crunchyrollstreamedthe anime as it aired.

The staff of the TV anime The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten has announced some invigorating news to fans, sharing that the series will get a second season.

The announcement comes alongside a teaser video and poster that can be viewed below. The announcement reads, "The second season of the TV anime The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten has been decided. The teaser visual for season 2 drawn by Hanekoto has also been released." Hanekoto, who was responsible for the imaginative character designs for the bright novel, left the message, "Thanks to everyone's support, we are pleased to announce that The Angel Next Door has been greenlit for a second season! I'm overjoyed that we'll obtain to see Mahiru and the others again, and I can't wait. Please continue to help The Angel Next Door - your ongoing support is greatly appreciated!"

Planning and Angel Next Door Season 2

I wrote two articles about a spring 2023 anime series titled (in English) The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten. The first article, published on February 6, covers my (ultimately well-founded) feeling of deja vu when I heard its main ending theme. The second, published on March 30, is my review of the entire series.

I published the first article after having watched the fifth episode out of twelve. At that time, I had a mixed, inclined toward positive, view of the series. I offered my initial impressions of the series as an aside to the main point of the article – my trying to remember where I had heard the ending song – because I figured that I may as well review the series after giving it space in our virtual pages. Fortunately, I ended up preferring the second half of the series to the first, so my full (and very long) review was positive. Angel Next Door is no masterpiece – I concluded that it would likely be a borderline top-six series in my year-end ranking, and as of November 3, 2023, that assessment is holding up well. But not all reviews need to be of the absolute best that anime has to offer.

A new promo video and visual have been revealed for the upcoming second season of The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, which showcases the angelic and devilish sides of the main heroine, Mahiru Shiina. The second season was first announced in October 2023 and a premiere date has not yet been announced. 

The new video reveals a visual and narration that features a devilish version of Mahiru, based on an image released this past January.  

Kenichi Imaizumi (Kingdom Season 3 to 5 and After School Dice Club director) served as supervisor for the first season, after originally being credited as director when the anime was first announced. Lihua Wang/Reika Ou was listed as director sometime before the anime premiered, with Keiichiro Ochi (Girlfriend, Girlfriend) as series screenwriter, and Takayuki Noguchi (Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway) as character designer. Project No.9 is in charge of the animation production.
