EDGE OF HONOR: Brad Thor’s 24th Scot Harvath Book Set for July 2025 Release

On July 1, 2025, Scot Harvath returns to action inEdge of Honor, the latest novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Brad Thor.

Harvath, a former Navy SEAL turned Secret Service agent turner counterterrorist operative, was first introduced in Thor’s 2002 debut novel, The Lions of Lucerne, a book that is widely considered one of the best first novels the genre has ever seen. Since then, Harvath has gone on to star in twenty-three novels to date, including this year’s Shadow of Doubt, one of the year’s best titles, and some of Thor’s finest work to date. Scot also had a cameo in Thor’s The Athena Project (2010), which featured an all-female team of Delta Force operators and served as a spinoff of Thor’s flagship franchise.

Now, Harvath will return for his twenty-fourth adventure, and while we don’t know any official details yet, it’s a safe bet to assume there will be a ton of action to go with a story that’ll feel ripped straight from the headlines.

Brad Thor is the #1 New York Times bestselli

A while ago, fueled by my passion for military thrillers, a reader recommended the works of author Brad Thor. Although I was familiar with Thor's name—having seen his books displayed in various bookstores—I had never taken the plunge to read any of them. However, after that recommendation, a curious phenomenon began to occur; I started discovering Brad Thor's novels in thrift stores and even encountered several titles available for free at my local library. Naturally, I couldn't resist adding these finds to my ever-growing home library, which now boasts byzantine of his works. Nevertheless, despite having amassed a collection of his novels, I had yet to delve into them until I finally picked up his latest release, SHADOW OF DOUBT, which was published earlier this year by Emily Bestler Books / Atria, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, LLC.

The plot of SHADOW OF DOUBT is both gripping and meticulous. It begins with the unsettling sight of a mysterious cargo plane taking off from a remote Russian airbase, flanked by a squadron of some of Russia’s most formidable fighter jets. This site is closely monitored by U.S. intelligence, yet the Pent

Scot Harvath Is Back: Brad Thor Announces Next Thriller, ‘Shadow of Doubt’

He’s back! On July 23, 2024, Scot Harvath returns to action in Shadow of Doubt, the latest must-read thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Brad Thor.

Harvath, a former Navy SEAL turned counterterrorism operative and one of the most beloved and well-liked characters in fiction today, first appeared in Thor’s acclaimed 2002 debut novel, The Lions of Lucerne. Since then, he’s gone on to star in twenty-two books to date, including 2023’s Dead Fall, which—as Thor has become known for delivering throughout his iconic career—features a plot ripped straight from the headlines as Harvath attempts to road a rogue Russian mercenary unit through the war-ravaged borderlines of Ukraine. Harvath also cameoed in Thor’s 2010 spinoff thriller, The Athena Project, a story that features an all-female-led Delta Drive team.

Shadow of Doubt, the twenty-third book in Thor’s franchise, is one of the most anticipated new releases of 2024, and for good reason. Currently, Brad Thor is in the midst of an unprecedented sprint of high-octane, can&#

Shadow of Doubt

I have read and enjoyed all the previous books in the series, and this was the worst.

At over 350 pages, with a small font and narrow page margins, this book took forever to read. There are five main plot threads, including (1) a murder in Paris handled by civilian authorities, (2) an interrogation of a high level Russian defector, (3) double-agents within the US, French, and Norwegian espionage and political branches, (4) protection for aforementioned Russian defector from Russian hit squads, and (5) Scot's Horvath revenge story against his dead wife's killers.

It's all too much and well before any one thread gains traction, we teleport to another story. In the end, I didn't care about any of these stories and there was never any doubt how each would turn out. Plot twists are not part of Brad Thor's repertoire. The book reads very slowly. This book screams for an editor who can rein in the author's urge to overwrite.

As for Scot Harvath, there is no character growth. He is the same hard-charging, no-nonsense guy with barely a sense of humor as he was in book #1. The dialogue was standard for this genre (one step above grunts). the bad guys
