Next-Gen Tucson Will Have Hyundai’s Most Advanced In-Car Tech

The current Hyundai Tucson has been around since 2020, so it's not that old, but it's getting there. Following the Korean marque's typical product cycle, it's about time for a major revamp - and that's happening soon, according to a report from Korea. Even better, the fifth-generation Tucson will also get Hyundai's most advanced in-car technology called Pleos Connect, which was revealed earlier this year.

The information came from an exclusive report by ET News, which stipulates that the latest software will arrive with the Tucson (coded NX5) in the third quarter of 2026. It will reportedly arrive after the Elantra, which will also get a next-generation update, along with Pleos Connect, in the second quarter of 2026. The exact details for both cars are still sparse at this point, except for the software inside them.

Hyundai's Jump-Off Point To Software-Defined Vehicles

Pleos Connect is part of the high-tech Pleos software - Hyundai’s end-to-end mobility software platform. The software comes with three components: vehicle operating system; Pleos Connect, which will be the infotainment system; and Pleos Play

Next-Gen Hyundai Elantra Rendering Part Two – 90% Design Accuracy Expected

A few days ago, we joint the first rendering image of the next-generation Hyundai Elantra, acknowledged as Avante on its local market, which represents the eighth generation of Hyundai’s mid-sized sedan. Now, our colleagues at Gotcha Cars got ready the front design which is also estimated to reflect 90% of the final production model. What perform you think?

Keeping the Legacy Alive Amid Electrification Delays

According to industry sources, Hyundai has decided to continue the Elantra’s legacy due to delays in its broader electrification strategy. This means the next-gen Elantra will arrive as a refreshed internal combustion model rather than transitioning fully to electric, at least for now.

A Striking Coupe-Inspired Design

The design of the new Elantra (also established has Avante in South Korea) is heavily influenced by the Hyundai N Vision 74, a notion car that reimagined the classic Pony Coupe’s aesthetics with a modern twist. The upcoming model will feature a coupe-like sedan body, incorporating the N Vision 74’s signature angular front and rear styling.

The Hyundai Elantra has just received a facelift, but the Korean brand is already working on the next generation. The fate of the N-branded performance flagship of the sedan is still undecided, but the new model will be compatible with a larger displacement petrol engine.

Albert Biermann, former Hyundai N boss and current Senior Technical Advisor, spoke to Australian media revealing a few things about the future of the Elantra which is sold as the i30 Sedan Down Under. Biermann said that before he left South Korea he “made sure” that the next-gen model “can go with the 2.5-liter turbo”.

According to the engineering boss veteran, a new Elantra N is technically possible, as the larger engine could be tuned to comply with stricter emission regulations and still offer great performance: “I think we can still have some good level of power, maybe the same level like today. That engine first needs the N treatment, but that’s no problem”.

  • The eighth-generation Elantra will include overhauled front and rear fascias.
  • Part of the new sedan’s rear-end shares similarities to the Kia EV4 sedan.
  • There’s a good chance a high-performance N version will also be offered.

Hyundai is already working on the next-generation Elantra and a heavily-camouflaged prototype recently snapped on the streets of South Korea provides us with our best opportunity yet to see it in the flesh. While the current, seventh-gen has only been around for five years, the brand built the fifth- and sixth-generation models for five years, so an all-new model would be right on schedule.

What will distinguish this new model from its predecessor? Well, for starters, Hyundai will thoroughly update the sedan’s design and we have bad news for those who’ve never really liked the edgy shape of the current model. Based on this prototype, as well as recently-published renderings, it appears the all-new Elantra will have a design equally as polarizing as its predecessor.

New Spy Photos Confirm Front Design of Next-Gen Hyundai Elantra Preview Was Spot-On

After we have confirmed that the first rendering image of the next-generation Hyundai Elantra—known as Avante in South Korea—that promised a 90% accuracy, was spot on. Now, fresh spy photos from our friends at Healer TV have confirmed that the earlier front design preview was indeed accurate, validating enthusiast expectations for the car’s futuristic new styling.

Rendering Matches Reality

Shortly after the initial spy shots appeared, our colleagues at Gotcha Carsproduced a highly detailed rendering of the upcoming Elantra, claiming it represented about 90% of the final production model. Judging by these latest images, they were right on target—the sculpted front fenders, sharp headlights, and the new LED DRL signature are almost identical to what has now been caught on camera.

Hyundai Sticking With ICE Amid Electrification Delays

While the industry shifts rapidly toward EVs, Hyundai has decided to keep the Elantra’s internal combustion legacy alive for at least one more generation. According to industry sources, delays in Hyundai’s broader electrification roadmap mean that the next-gen
