REAL MADRID were left breathing a sigh of relief after seeing off Atletico on penalties following a 2-2 aggregate draw.

But after the match, Guillem Balague claimed that Mbappe is still the designated penalty taker.
The LaLiga TV reporter said: "Real Madrid won a penalty but Kylian Mbappe was not right. He struggled with his ankle and with a toenail that is coming off.
"You had the penalty missed by Vinicius Jr in normal time. Mbappe said to Vinicius, 'I don't feel like kicking this, I am not ready' and walked away from it, Vini took it and it went high."

Rudiger struck the winning penalty to set up the quarter-final tie against Arsenal, the first leg of which will be held at the Emirates Stadium next Tuesday. The Real Madrid quartet were looked into over allegations of indecent conduct made during the post-match celebrations.
Television pictures appeared to display Rudiger making a throat-cutting gesture towards the crowd and Mbappe apparently grabbing his crotch.
UEFA appointed a special inspector to study the quartet. Their findings were published on Friday and saw Rudiger fined €40,000, Mbappe ̈́

Kylian Mbappe failed to convert his penalty on Wednesday, hitting a new low for Real Madrid.
Kylian Mbappe’s highly publicised move to Real Madrid in June, ended a seven-year transfer saga. But the move hasn't worked according to the club's plan, with the French forward in poor form. Last week, Mbappe came under fire after he missed a penalty in his side’s 0-2 defeat vs Liverpool in the Champions League. He stepped up to take the spot-kick once again for Madrid on Wednesday, against Athletic Club.
But the Frenchman missed his penalty once again as Real Madrid crashed to a 1-2 defeat. Bilbao took the lead via Alejandro Remiro in the 53rd-minute, and then Mbappe missed the penalty, which could have levelled proceedings.

Real Madrid’s Mbappe and Rudiger clear for Champions League but both fined
Real Madrid stars Kylian Mbappe and Antonio Rudiger have been fined by UEFA but escaped bans from the Champions League quarterfinals over “indecent” postgame celebrations in the previous round.
Mbappe and Rudiger were both given a suspended one-game ban for “violating the basic rules of decent conduct”, UEFA said on Friday.

Madrid plays at Arsenal on Tuesday in the first leg of the quarterfinals.
The charges followed Madrid players celebrating a penalty shootout win over city rival Atletico Madrid in the round of 16 on March 12.
Video clips circulating on social media showed Mbappe grabbing his crotch on the field.
UEFA said Rudiger was fined 40,000 euros ($44,000) and Mbappe 30,000 euros ($33,000). A third Madrid player, Dani Ceballos, was fined 20,000 euros ($22,000) with no suspended ban.
UEFA said no charges were made against Vinicius Junior, who also had been under investigation.
