Studio mdhr next project

The Studio MDHR surprised the industry with the passionate development story of Cuphead, their first video game, which ended up organism a huge success, to the extent that it even has a cartoon on Netflix. After this phenomenon, its creators are already working on a new project.

The Canadian studio has not openly discussed what their next step in the industry will be, but we know they are working on it thanks to a job opening they shared in search of an "experienced art director" to facilitate define the "visual identity" of their "new project".

What kind of game will be the recent Studio MDHR game?

Given the initial stage of the project, the job opening does not provide more details, so fans will have to be patient if they want to find out what it is about.

However, it is noteworthy that in the job opening, the studio mentions that it is preferable for interested candidates to love "arcade action games from the 80s or 90s," in addition to having experience with both traditional and digital animation. It also states that the artist will be part of a "small and passionate team," suggesting that the studio will maintain

Studio MDHR, the Developer of Cuphead, Comments on Its Future Plans

Almost five whole years following its initial release date, Cuphead is finally bound to get its huge DLC with the upcoming launch of The Delicious Last Course expansion pack. Featuring a new playable character, new bosses, new weapons, and more, this DLC also marks the end of the game's lengthy development cycle.

Maya Moldenhauer, the Studio Director and Executive Producer of StudioMDHR, the team behind Cuphead, recently participated in an interview where she discussed the Cuphead IP and its future after The Delicious Last Course comes out. Moldenhauer also dropped a few hints on the nature of StudioMDHR's next project, though she did keep them rather vague on purpose.

According to Moldenhauer's commentary, The Delicious Last Course DLC is, in fact, a collection of virtually all the ideas StudioMDHR still had after Cuphead had already come out. Taken from the cutting room floor, these concepts and features were then improved upon and implemented into the game after getting an extra round of polishing. The

Cuphead's DLC Makes Me Excited For StudioMDHR's Next Game

We're now on the precipice of the release of the Cuphead DLC, The Delicious Last Course, which launches on June 30.

Three years in the making, and five years after the original game was released, the DLC is set to add the biggest island yet to the game, a new character, and five brand new bosses, each with their own meticulously hand-drawn animations. The content is set to cap off an incredible run for the title, which is often highlighted as one of the pinnacles of indie gaming.

And once that's been released, StudioMDHR will be working on its next project, which has me very, very excited. Here's why.

It's clear, based on the timeframe for The Delicious Last Course, that StudioMDHR's next game is some way away yet. The studio likes to take its time with games to ensure near-perfection. And that's fine.

In our interview with Maja Moldenhauer, Studio Director and Executive producer, it was clear that quality is key. Maja stated that "Timeline has never been a driver for us" and that "it’s about quality." This bodes well for the future. Without internal pressures of rushing things out, you're almost assuring, at least
