Americas next top hitmaker contestants
Winning a competition is an exhilarating way for a band to earn some high end dividends. The stakes are usually opening slots at festivals and venues we couldn’t otherwise get, cash prizes, and a lot of publicity to new fans. The temptation is to enter them all, but we pick and choose which ones might be a good fit for us and then dive in with both feet. Some of them are too heavy with entry fees, others are too far away, and some of them are clearly disorganized sh**shows. But some of them are situated just right for us to make the effort.
Recently we recently entered the Loudest in Lou competition for a coveted slot at the Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville. Unfortunately we didn’t even make it out of the gate. And with zero feedback, amongst the potential thousands of entries, we can only guess as to why. Unfortunately, this is generally the case. Maybe our music didn’t fit with what they were looking for? Maybe we just weren’t as good as the other entries? Maybe we didn’t have the right look? Maybe it was political and we just didn’t have the contacts to get heard past the noise of so many entries? Maybe they just don’t like redhead female vocalists

Competing alongside so many talented musicians, one artist came out on top and will take home $50,000, tell their story in Rolling Stone, and perform at the Global Citizen Festival.

Mr. Cesar & The Lucha Tones, a Houghton-based surf rock band, have reached the Top 10 in a competition with America’s Next Top Hitmaker. The winner of the competition will receive $10,000, a feature in Rolling Stone magazine, and the opportunity to perform at Rolling Stone’s Future of Music showcase in Texas.
The Lucha Tones have beat out thousands of other acts to reach the Top 10, and they hope to continue to rise in the competition. As of 4 p.m. Friday, they were second in their group. The band is described as a “high energy experience” that includes, “melding elements of surf rock with latin flavors that anyone can enjoy.”
“You can vote once every 24 hours, and you can also donate votes, and all of the donations are tax-deductible, and they go for a good cause for charity,” Cesar Solorzano said in an interview with TV6 News. Solorza

The selected artist will showcase their talent in front of over 60,000 attendees in New York City, sharing the spotlight with some of the world’s biggest stars and advocates dedicated to creating a better, fairer world.
This year’s festival promises to be even more impactful, bringing together renowned artists, influential world leaders, activists, philanthropists, and millions of fans united by the mission to eradicate poverty. Past performers have included music icons like We know El Paso, Texas is (and always has been) full of incredibly talented musicians. Some have a chance to break out & others are still waiting for their large break. Thanks to the America's Next Top Hit Maker challenge, some local artists HAVE that chance to get a massive break into the music world. According to their official website, it is a contest where local artists & bands possess a chance to win $10,000, appear in Rolling Stone, compete at the Rolling Stone's Future of Music Showcase in Austin, Texas & they will contain the chance to work with some huge names in the music world. Some of these names include Busta Rhymes, Grammy-nominated designer Joseph Wooten, Emmy award winner Trey Bruce, & longtime producer Greg Potter.
